So, I have just finished my second APR - an annual progress review thingy my uni has for each PhD student. It's not a big accomplishment, it just marks the ending of my second year of study. I still have about 1.5 years left until my scholarship ends (which means I also have to finish my degree). [A mentor just told me, that my 'resting bitch face' and social anxiety issue has made many people misunderstood me. It's really nothing new. People have told me that since a hundred years ago. Haha. And I still have not changed. It's getting worse if anything.] Lately, I've also been feeling like I haven't done much for my study, and I felt less productive than I have ever felt before. I feel like I have difficulty in reading comprehension. And my academic English deteriorates so much. I still have to go to Bandung to finish up my fieldwork with some sort of consultation meeting. I have a policy analysis manuscript sitting for a while. I haven't touched...

haven't updated anything this past month... oh well, I just realized I've been in my hometown for a month now! Jogja is as hot as always. It's getting more crowded. I have a lot of free time in my hand -- too much, honestly, because I'm starting to be blank most of the time. it's good in a way as I can see my friends - whom I haven't seen for some time - but in another way, my brain is 'degrading' already (is that even a word? does that make sense?) on a brighter side, I have a chance to eat whatever I want to if the time and money permits! :) PS: it snows in London, heavier than last year *sigh*

ah, i just realized. been here for a while, but i hardly wrote about my impression of london. it's summer already. weather is nice, though sometimes it's terribly hot in my attic room.  about a month ago, I eventually made up my mind to reorganize my room. as a result, now my study desk faces the window directly to allow sunlight; hence hopefully prevent me from laziness view from my window, yeah it's a sunny day when I first wrote this draft, that was my first impression on London's summer. but I must take it back as summer days are often not so different than any other days in London, be it winter, spring or fall. like today, it's now 13 degree Celsius - and don't ask me about rain or wind coz it happens almost every day. after years of good experience with my possession, this past couple of months have been a real 'hell' for me. first, I lost a tripod in Jane Austen's city, Bath. second (today), I lost my damn cell phone in a market (and fortunately, it was the android one - which I only got like in a what? a year or so). this is just awesome! yet, a friend of mine said I was way too 'cool' for someone who just lost a phone, to which another responded, "she didn't even react when she lost a boyfriend, what-more a phone!". haha, I guess she's right.  well, I guess, goodbye! :'(

it's a bit painful for me to post this, but, just for fun I decided to post these three pictures.  early Oct 2011 late Dec 2011 NOW!! can anyone tell the difference? ;p on a side note, actually I could tell that I've began gaining weight during this past few months, especially after my life has been turned *kind of* upside down by the increasing difficulty of sleeping. When I do my activity at night, I still crave for snacks. Hereby, this is the result. I tried to jog, but since it was such a long time I didn't do it, it killed my leg. So, I kinda gave up. But, I think, by looking at this, I should definitely begin to jog again. so, let's live healthy life!  ( self-hypnotising, though I can't really see myself having the normal sleep hour, especially assignment, essay and dissertation are all waiting )

argh! i've been feeling so stupid lately, i can't think straight!  by the way, i found a nice cover of Falling Slowly (Glen Hasard) by a Korean male vocalist, Park Hyo Shin. his voice soothes me (or actually makes me feel stupider?) .. haha

this week was so exhausting for me. I had two essays for my 1st term assignment. been reading since forever, but something held me up when it came to write. so, this was like the worst experience of doing essays. I didn't start writing until like 4 days before the deadline - except some outlines already. I must have been crazy. I need a writing tutorial NOW!! it was like a brain drain. and come to think of it, dissertation is a maximum 10.000 - I don't even know what I am going to write in that, and it is coming up on September. oh completely forgot, I need to propose some topic by the middle of this month. *WHAT??* but finally, tonite I felt so relieved. our comfortable beds oaaa...... i've just finished having my dinner, and now just browsing the social media (facebook and friends, hahaa). these couple of weeks, if not month, me and my partner (working partner) always wake up very late. we're supposed to be in our office at 9 am. then come back home at 5 (though we usually go back later than that, don't know why, but every one seems to work very hard). now, we wake up at around 9 or so, and then arrive at work at 11 or so. this is a stupid habit i keep at home (waking up late). the craziest thing was we woke up at 9.30 and come at lunch time. (why so long to arrive at the office? because, we need to shower, have breakfast, and my partner usually cook something for her breakfast and lunch before going to work) fyi, my partner's habit at home is always sleep early and wake up early in the morning. but since she came to sydney, her habit changes. she sleeps midnight and wake up late. once when we had our d...

"Lebaran sebentar lagi..." Hore sebentar lagi lebaran ... hehehe... wah senang ya, sebulan puasa akhirnya hari raya sudah mau tiba.......... Hore!!!!!!!!!!! Tapi gak kroso e di sini... Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dua kali puasa dan lebaran nih, ga di rumah. Berturut-turut pula. Gak enak ya. Meski kalo di rumah, ga ada ritual yg begitu spesial, kaya masak lontong, ketupat, opor ayam, dsb. Tapi di rumah, ada ibukku. ada keluarga. hihihi. hiks. Di rumah, biasanya masak sambel goreng ati, atau daging giling ... Terus, g ada kue2, tapi adanya cemilan kering2. kaya ceker ayam. sm kue cina yg selalu diberi orang. Dlu waktu eyang putri masih ada, tiap lebaran pasti ngumpul. Cucu pd nginep di rumah eyang. Puasa bareng. Maen kembang api bareng. hiks.
